SBT have been involved with refurbishing gearboxes for the local quarrying industry in and around Lancashire and Derbyshire for several decades, a lot of the gearboxes used in the quarries are on crusher applications and as such are subject to repeated shock loading.
A lot of this industry operates on a very small margin and therefore downtime reduction is a priority. As SBT carry extensive stocks of components and bearings, and have in-house gear cutting and grinding, our speed of repair is second to none, especially when gears need to be cut and ground as part of the gearbox overhaul.
SBT has recently completed the full manufacture of a stone crusher unit, machining the rotating assembly and fabricating the main clam shell style body for a company in Deeside. Details available upon request.
